Driving Diversity in the Energy Transition Sector

Our mission is to celebrate diversity and to enable untapped talent through support and investment

A little bit about us

IntoNetZero is a new not-for-profit that exists to dramatically increase the number of diverse leaders entering and finding success in the new energy sector by building awareness of education pathways, providing information about recently created jobs, inspiring rewarding careers and nurturing opportunities to start new businesses.

The opportunity

Traditionally, the sector has been driven by executives and entrepreneurs with similar backgrounds and extensive experience.

In the new energy space, no one has 10, 15, or 20 years of experience. Young people from diverse backgrounds can become architects of the solutions to net zero.

30 million

More green-skilled workers are needed globally by 2030 to deliver net zero.

4Xs

Green jobs are growing at around four times the rate of the overall UK job market.

1114%

Job postings for renewable energy managers grew by a staggering 1114% (2019-2022).

6%

Talent demand is not being met, with green talent only increasing by 6% each year (2017-2022).

32%

Women currently account for 32% of the global energy sector workforce and represent just 26% of all Executives and C-Suite leaders.

22%

Racial and ethnic minorities currently account for 22% of the global energy sector workforce and only 20% of Executives and C-Suite leaders.
